6cinnamon sticks
2teaspoonswhole cloves
3/4teaspoonallspice
1/4teaspoonnutmeg
4cupswater
5cupsunfiltered apple ciderunsweetened
1cara cara orangethickly sliced
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a 6qt slow cooker. Mix well to combine.
Cook on low for 8 hours.
After 8 hours, mash the apples and orange slices using a potato masher to help them release any remaining juices.
Using a fine mesh sieve, strain the apple cider to remove the apple skins, oranges, cinnamon sticks, and any excess pulp.
Serve while warm with a cinnamon stick and apple slice garnish.
Store leftovers in the fridge or freezer.
Notes
Using whole spices where possible is going to give a much better flavor to your hot cider.
If you don't have a slow cooker, you can use a big pot on the stove, a pressure cooker on slow cooker mode, or a dutch oven.
