Soften the butter 1-2 hours before needed at room temperature.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a mixing bowl using a spatula, mix together the softened butter, parmesan cheese, minced garlic and finely chopped parsley until it forms a soft, spreadable garlic butter.
Cut the Italian bread loaf in half lengthwise, resulting in two long halves.
Spread the garlic herb butter evenly on both halves of the bread.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, until crispy and golden on the edges. Optional: Broil the garlic bread for the last 2-3 minutes for extra crispy edges. Watch carefully so the garlic does not burn.
