Add all the ingredients to a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the dates are softened.
Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool for at least 10 minutes.
Transfer to a high-speed blender and blend until very smooth. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
Blackstrap molasses and molasses are not the same. Blackstrap molasses is more bitter than regular molasses and is more nutrient rich than other molasses. Please only use blackstrap molasses.
