Base Oatmeal Ingredients

  • 2 cups steel cut oats ($1.86)
  • 4 cups non-dairy milk ($0.80)
  • 4 cups water
  • ½ cup maple syrup ($1.50)
  • ½ tsp salt ($0.05)

Add-ins for Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal flavor

  • 3 apples diced ($1.92)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon ($0.17)
  • 1/2 tsp ginger ($0.25)
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg ($0.13)
  • 1 tsp vanilla ($0.58)
  • 2 cups pecans or walnuts chopped, optional for topping ($3.50)

Add-ins for PB&J Oatmeal Flavor

  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter ($1.50)
  • 1/2 cup jelly ($1.50) for serving
  • fresh fruit, peanuts, additional peanut butter for serving

Instructions

Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal

  • Add all base oatmeal ingredients to the slow cooker along with the cinnamon apple oatmeal flavor ingredients. Stir through and slow cook for 7-8 hours on low.
  • Serve with pecans, walnuts, and freshly chopped apples.

PB&J Oatmeal

  • Add all base oatmeal ingredients to the slow cooker along with the natural peanut butter. Stir through and slow cook for 7-8 hours on low.
  • Serve with jelly, fresh fruit, peanuts, and additional peanut butter.
